It's been eleventy billion years since I've been on here. Oh well. Quick update. Kirk and I now live together in an apartment here in Knoxville. And I have a big girl job processing drug test results. I graduate in December, and then I dont know what. I had book goals for the summer, and I've only read one. The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, and it was fabulous. I want to read his other one as well, A Thousand Splendid Suns... maybe that will be my "book treat" for the trip up to NY. I'm currently reading Catcher in the Rye, however, by JD Salinger. And I like it alot so far, I just havent been in a reading mood, sadly. BUT. I have a LONG ride up to NY, and while Kirk is driving, I shall read. I plan on also bringing Many Waters by Madeline L'engle, because I love it so, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, and a book called The Movies of My Life by Alberto Fuquet. Oh, and I'll probably buy Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand as well.
So yes, Kirk and I are taking our first road trip together. We're driving my car, and we're going to follow my parents up on the 4th. I want to stop at random places on the way up there. Like Elizabethtown, KY and take cheesy pictures. My cousin gets married on Friday the 6th, and my aunt is throwing my uncle a 40th bday party the next day, and the E. Syracuse fireworks are that night, yay! Monday, I think we're headed up to the Adirondack Mountains to go to a place called Old Forge and spend the night and go to a waterpark called Enchanted Forest Water Safari. Kirk and I are leaving on that Friday and will go up to Niagara Falls for the day, and get a hotel in Buffalo that night, because we want to see the falls lit up, and they shoot off fireworks every Fri and Sat night. And then we'll begin our trip home. I'm so excited!!
Nicky P and Shari are coming up this weekend. I'm excited. After work tomorrow night, we're gonna grill out here at my apt; have burgers, etc. Maybe go swimming afterwards. And then Saturday (Weather-permitting) we're gonna go tubing down the river up near Pigeon Forge. Yay!
Ok. I'm off to go read for a bit before The Colbert Report comes on and then I have to go to bed.

I am currently having a dilemma about which movie to write my English paper on that is due tomorrow by 4. It's between Sideways and American Beauty. I originally planned American Beauty, but now that I'm watching Sideways, I'm not sure which would be the best. Hrm.

Dealing with the madness that is known as the last week of classes.
I wrote my Italian paper last night for Sal's class. I'm so happy it's done.
I should do an extra credit powerpoint presentation for Sal's class, but... not sure I really want to.
Monday, I have a 10 minute oral presentation in Flavia/Consuela's class, and a 2 page tema due (the final), and a Spanish exam.
Wednesday by 4 I have to watch American Beauty and write a paper on it.
And sometime next week, I need to do an analysis paper in Spanish.
And I work too much.
Can't wait for Christmas break!

I am slowly but surely working my way through all seasons of Buffy. I stopped to watch all 4 seasons of Farscape for awhile, so. I'm on season 6, which is cool, because I didnt see all of it, and I havent seen any of season 7. During season 5 when Spike professes his love for Buffy, I'm always like, c'mon Joss, you suck. They don't work. She should be with Angel. But then, during season 6, I always start rooting for Spike, hahah. I just watched Once More With Feeling, and ::sigh:: I really do love the Buffy-Spike kiss at the end.
And I realize this was a completely random entry, but. Oh well.

I don't know what it is, but I just never feel like updating anymore... maybe its just because I have a billion other things to do, and I actually have a few minutes to kill before work.
I get to go to the game tonight, which rocks, but as of right now I'm working next Saturday night... which means I can't go to the Florida game. But. I'm trying to get a girl to switch with me, she said it was fine, but I need to make sure I can do register and stuff. Who knows. Even though Kirk spent a long weekend with me this past one, I still miss him like crazy, and can't wait until fall break gets here so I can spend some time in Cookeville with him. School has been nuts, I'm so busy with everything... taking 18 hours is hard. One of my Spanish classes sucks hardcore, I dont like the teacher and its really hard. :(
But I've got great seats to the game tonight... I hope there's no rain!!

My life has been a zoo as of the past three weeks, ever since I got home from Italy. I've been so swamped with doctors appointments, and packing and stuff I feel like I've barely had a minute to breathe. There are so many people I have yet to get back to, that have called and I feel bad. I'm all moved into my new apartment though, and the job hunt is now on. I applied a few places yesterday and picked up some applications today. Classes start tomorrow... ugh.

It was a beautiful evening in Nashville. Tonight the band pulled out the newish tune Shotgun. It wasn't on the set list. Out of nowhere, Dave played the first few chords of the tune, then smiled at Carter who nodded and smiled back, at which point the whole band kicked into it. (Hehe, as stated from the website)

ready to go home |

Yes, I'm still alive. However, my European excursion has come to an end. Tonight we head to the airport and stay there until our flight tomorrow at 6:20. I'll be back in Nashville at 4:09. I'm very ready to come home. Though, this past Saturday I wasnt. I met so many great friends and although we were all ready to get back home, alot of us didnt want to leave. So, it was another bittersweet ending. Urbino 2006, was absolutely the most amazing experience of my life- I loved sitting up all night just chillin' on the terrace with everyone overlooking the beautiful rolling Italian hills, trekking up the hill to get gelato at night, getting thrown in the fountain by the Italians when Italy won the World Cup, etc.
So, here's how it all went (for the most part):
Spent 5 days in London- saw Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, rode the London Eye, walked down Abbey Road, saw the Tower Bridge, the Milennium Bridge, went to Hyde Park and the Marble Arch, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the HMS Belfast parked on the Thames River, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, etc. London is too expensive. It was cool to see the above places, but the food sucks, and the pound sucks harder.
Then we took a day trip to Ireland, and visited the Cliffs of Moher, and went to Galway, where I bought myself an authentic claddagh ring. Ireland was absolutely beautiful and I loved it..
Then it was to Paris for 5 days and saw- Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Orsay Museum, Seine River, Tuileries Gardens, Luxembourg Gardens, Sacre-Coeur, etc. Paris. Well. I'll only go again to visit the Eiffel Tower with my boy. Otherwise, I detested it. I dont like French food, but, it was ok, because I actually dropped quite a few pounds from not really eating.
Well, we decided to take a train from France to Rome, so we could meet our group in Rome on Monday. Our train left Sunday evening, and it was absolute hell. Firstly, we got our seats but then we were put in with a deaf family or whatever, and they freaked out and wanted us to switch seats so a couple of them could sit with their kids. Whatever, except the whole thing almost made us miss our train. It was a sleeper train, so that sucked too. We wake up the next morning and find that we got stuck at the border for like 2 hours for whatever reason, and we were only about to reach Florence. Well, no way could we meet everyone in Rome on time, so we decided it'd be quicker to go from florence and train to urbino. So. We had to switch trains quite a few times, but eventually made it to Urbino that night.
That night was also the night of the Italy-Germany game. Well, I found Lauren and she said everyone was going to a caffe in town to watch it and to come. So we did, and met Nickey and Sabrina (along with alot of others) but they were the two I actually really got to know a bit that night)
Here's how our dorms were. We had to drag our luggage down 8 flights of stairs to get to the room. That was a bitch. There was no air conditioning. That was a bigger bitch. But I survived.
Italy as you all know won the World Cup. And I was there! Which was incredible. We were all sitting outside at a caffe watching it on the big screen, and when they won- sheer madness. I loved it. Fireworks were set off, everyone was throwing each other into the fountain in the middle of the piazza. Oh, it was great. That is a night I will never in my life forget!
Every night, all of us would sit up on the terrace and have terrace parties with our 50 cent boxed wine we bought in the vending machines, and we would bring laptops out to play music... it was so fun. Tandy (we call him Tandy, because he's Tall Andy- we had 3 Andys on our trip)bought a guitar and we'd have sing-a-longs all the time, which rocked. It was even more awesome, because we all had the same taste in music for the most part. Emma loved Pink Floyd and the Beatles, Candy (Charles Andy or Gandy (Gay Andy) loved showtunes and Moulin Rouge, and Dawn and Lauren fullfilled our hip hop needs. We also have Sandy, who is Short Andy, who ended up being Amber's little stalker. Poor lil guy.
Often times, I'd join a group of people and go up at night to get gelato... I was obsessed with getting mint and chocolate, but I finally expanded my horizons in Rome and got a mix of blueberry and yogurt, which was delicious.
Well, thats enough of an update for now, I need to check the financial situation.

You all have NO idea as to the sheer excitement that is outside my Parisian hotel window right now. France has just defeated Brazil, and I'm here in Paris, screaming Viva France down onto the streets. CRAZY!!! Thought I'd get on here and do an update of my European journey.
Saturday the 24th we arrived in London, finally found our hostel, and went to dinner, and ventured around Hyde Park, which was fun. There was a concert going on near us, but we didn't know what it was. Turns out it was like a 3 day event with James Blunt, Depeche Mode, etc.
Sunday the 25th, we ate lunch down near Piccadilly Circus at an Irish pub, went to Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, saw Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, walked down along the Thames River, saw the amazing Tower Bridge and Towers of London, and the Globe Theatre. We ate dinner and waited for it to finally get dark enough to see the Tower Bridge lit up at night (it doesn't get dark over here until 10:30-11:00!!)
Monday we went up into the London Eye for an amazing view of London, and we watched Italy beat Australia in the Cup at a pub, and then ventured down to Abbey Road! I saw with my own eyes music history!
Tuesday, we took an early flight to Ireland, and went to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway... Ireland is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! My favorite place so far.
Wednesday, we toured Westminster Abbey and took the Chunnel to Paris!
Thursday, we ventured around Paris, and went in and toured Notre Dame, walked along the Seine River, went to the Eiffel Tower, walked down Champs-Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe, went and sat in a park below the Eiffel Tower, got dinner, and waited for dark to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night. We did the Eiffel Tower ascent which was fun, too, though, I wish I had a boy there to kiss me...
Friday, was Louvre day. We went to the Louvre, saw the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, and then we went to a cafe and watched Italy beat Ukraine!
Today, we went to Le Sacre-Coeur and climbed the dome and saw the amazing view of Paris, and then Sam and I took Jesse to the train station and I talked to Kirk and my parents finally. Then Sam and I came back to the hotel and hung out, and went and got KFC (hahahaha, it was the closest thing open) and had a conversation with a couple of guys in front of us who were from Ghana. Then we came back and watched the last bit of the France-Brazil game! I'm so glad Brazil's out!!! Now, for the Italy-Germany game... how exciting if Italy wins the Cup, while I'm in Italy!!!
Tomorrow I think Sam and I are gonna go to the Orsay Museum. Not sure what else we'll do. We leave Paris Monday night to take a train straight to Rome.
Tons more has happened, like a construction worker asking me to coffee when he got off work (he was Italian and I guess thought I was too, since he started speaking to me and Sam in it, lol) The concierge downstairs was hugging me and told me I was pretty, since he was trying to help me with my phone card, ahahah, and said something about me marrying him. Overall, I've been having fun- missing home A TON, but... it's ok. I'll be back soon enough! Ok, internet's expensive, so I must go. For you kids who have facebook, I put up several albums of pictures!!

RENT! |
] |
Well, the last few days have been a whirlwind of strangeness. Actually, strange is one of the many adjectives I could use. No details right now. Maybe you all will hear something when I come home from my trip, since its a domestic affair, hahahaha.
Went up to the 'Boro last night and shot some pool with a few people, then went back to Taylor's and watched the Smile Time Angel episode because it's one of my favorites! The night before I was over at Shari's and we watched Running Scared and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, both of which I enjoyed.
Leaving for Italy is turning out to be a bit bittersweet... I didn't expect it to be at all, but. I wish I could be in two places at once. I'd love to see Chels and Andrew and have bbq's and pool parties, and nights of drinking... Oh, well. Spare a thought for me while I'm galivanting around Europe.
Well, I might be taking a trip tomorrow to Opry Mills. Thats always exciting. Otherwise, I'm gonna go pack and sing to Rent at the top of my lungs.

Hips Don't Lie- Shakira |
] |
Is it bad that I can't stop listening to Hips Don't Lie by Shakira? And how I just want to wear a red dress and heels and go salsa dancing in Barcelona?
Well, the countdown is seriously on... I have so much packing to do and thinking out exactly what I'm going to bring. Eeek! Mom had actually talked about getting me a new suitcase, which would help. Dad showed me how to work my digital camera the other day... I think I'm gonna bring it to my aunt's today to start playing with it.
On an up side, I'm feeling a bit better. Been taking Sudafed like crazy, but. I think I just have a head cold or something. Nonetheless, I need it to be gone on Friday! I'll have jet lag bad enough... Samantha and I are going to try and resist the urge to just go to the hostel and sleep, so we can get on some kind of schedule... I do know however, the first thing I'll want to do is take a shower!!
On an even more up side, after my excursion to Knoxville, where a bird definitely shit on my head (Mar- I now understand your hatred of birds) Samantha and I went ahead and booked our 4 nights in London, I got my ISIC card, and we booked a one way ticket on the highspeed train to get us to Heathrow airport to catch our flight to Shannon, Ireland. I'm finally going to the Cliffs and I'm so excited! Since I'll have easy internet access in London, I'll definitely be putting pictures up next week of my trip thus far on facebook or something. Samantha also went ahead and booked our actual flights to Shannon. Now we need to look into booking a hostel in Paris, and getting Chunnel tickets. It really doesn't help that I don't get even a remotely decent wireless connection here at my house, and it's such a pain to use dial-up.

I went to Book Den today to look for books that I want to read on my trip!
Here's what I snagged:
Anthem by Ayn Rand We The Living by Ayn Rand (I love her stuff) One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery Le Divorce by Diane Johnson Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden Fatal Voyage by Kathy Reichs
I also got a pair of black gauchos, a navy and sea green hooded long sleeve shirt from Old Navy; 3 tank tops from Goodys, Mom bought me a cute striped carry on bag, as well as a cute bag to cart around Europe.
I can't wait! I go to Knoxville tomorrow and I'm so excited to see my Italian girls!!

Can I just say I'm getting freaking crazy excited about leaving in a couple weeks?! I've been online looking at hostels in London, and I really like one called Wake Up London in Paddington, and one in Hyde Park called Hyde Park Hostel (I actually think that is the one Britni stayed in, I'm not sure, I need to give her a call). We are staying in London for at least 3 days and there is talk of seeing a show in the West Bank- I prefer to see Les Mis, but it's whatever really. If we find a way of transportation out to the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, we'll take a cheap flight from London to Shannon, Ireland (I think Sam found one where we'd leave London early in the morning and get back later that night, so we'd have the whole day there) I e-mailed Callis to see if he could help, but otherwise if that doesn't work out, there is also talk of maybe taking a flight from London to Edinburgh instead and spend the day there. Then it's off to Paris for a few days (where I need to see if I can get a hold of Emiliano and see if he can come meet us) then Sam and I will make our way down into Italy, possibly stopping in Milan or wherever we feel like really before meeting everyone in Urbino on the 4th.
Places we've talked about seeing:
London: The London Eye, Tower Bridge, Milennium Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Piccadilly Circus, Abbey Road, Tralfalgar Square, Westminister Abbey, Big Ben, Parliament, Buckingham Palace at 11:30 to see the Changing of the Guard, Covent Gardens, Hyde Park, the British Museum, the HMS Belfast, Gordon's Wine Bar (maybe that's the one?) etc.
Paris: Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Pantheon, Notre Dame Towers, Eiffel Tower, Palace of Versailles, Victor Hugo's house, Luxembourg Gardens, etc.
I'm so excited! And I just can't hide it!!

Last night was so hella fun.
I actually didn't want to even go, but I'm so glad I did. I had called Shari about what she was doing that night, and she said she was gonna go with Mery (a girl from TJ's) to Bar Nashville, because Mery had VIP, so she got in free, blah blah. Well, Bar Nashville didn't sound very promising, but I was getting antsy to get out, so I agreed. On my way over to Shari's, she calls me and Amelia is with her, which rocked, because I haven't seen her in awhile. So, we go to Cool Springs and meet up with Mery and Necy (both TJ-Maxxers) and we followed them up to Nashville. We go to Bar Nashville, and there's a sign that says it's permanently closed and to go to Decades. Well, we go to Decades, Mery tells them she has VIP and the guy was like, well it's 21 and up. Mery and Amelia weren't 21. So we head in to Red Iguana, but it was country night, and Mery and Necy were like let's go to Grahams. So, as we were headed up 2nd ave, I get a call from my mom and she was like where are you? I told her and her and my dad were a block away, so they came over and said hey, and we proceeded to the club, where we mingled on all the floors. Amelia and I went up to the roof and chilled out at a table and listened to the band and talked for awhile, because we didn't feel like being in the "rap music area" because it was super crowded, and guys were dancing all up on us and I couldn't even tell if any of them were hot, hahaha. So, we had a great time... this morning I drove up to Nash yet again to meet up with Samantha, and we ate lunch at Panera and discussed our traveling plans before Italy. I'm so excited!! More details to come, but right now I'm hittin' the pool!

Tonight, Shari and I went up to the theater to hang out with Taylor for awhile because we were waiting on Laura to get back from Opry Mills so we could see her engagement ring- it's so pretty! Taylor did awesome. In the meantime, we decided to watch Over the Hedge, which was ADORABLE! I'm so glad it was just us in the theater because I was laughing my ass off. So, good times. Then we got to see Wiggles' baby girl, who is the most precious thing ever! So, fun times... not much been going on with me... still working through season 2 of Farscape...

Well, I fell down some wet wooden stairs today as I was leaving the house I was baby-sitting for. Oh, yeah. Scraped and bruised my back. Not to mention, went into hysterics and I was driving home.
On a better note, I finished season 1 of Farscape last night. At first I didn't think I could get into it, I didn't like how nothing was going with the storyline blah blah, but then I became addicted and it all made sense in the end. So, I've now started season 2. After season 2 is done, I'll be working on downloading season 5 of Buffy, as well as seasons 3 and 4 of Farscape. So, it's exciting.
I was definitely a nerd and rented High School Musical the other day. To be honest, it wasn't that bad. It was a cute kids movie.
So, I decided I don't want to be a mom. At least not for a really long time. Babysitting and taking care of kids is just not my cup of tea at this point in my life. My patience is shot...

My ears are definitely ringing after last night's show. I went to dinner with my parents at Beef O'Bradys and then went and met Shari and we went to Shannon (a girl I used to work with) and her husband's house and we rode with them and their friend Chastity up to 12th and Porter to see their friend's band Destroy by Design play.
First, a DJ named DJ Wicked did his thing and that was really awesome, and then Chance got up (I've been told he's good friends with Kid Rock and does stuff with Gretchen Wilson and Big n Rich or something) with the Nashville Mafia and they rocked out. He definitely passed out 3 shots of Jack for one of his songs, and he was giving out a few beers too. Definitely my favorite part. We were all right up front, so he was shaking our hands and singing down to us. It was cool. Except for the part, where someone grabbed my ass. Which was amusing.
Then a band called Adrenaline Theory got up, and I didn't like them at all. Maybe because the lead singer was spewing beer over the crowd, and it was bad enough I reeked of smoke, I didn't want to add beer to that list. So. Not to mention the girls that were "groupies" were all moshing... now I apparently didn't know what "moshing" really was. But they were all pushing each other, and Shari was upright pissed and grabbed an empty beer bottle, in which I took from her.
Then Shari's friend's band got up and I liked them, but by then I had a splitting headache and I was ready to go home. So, after a long night of headbanging and dancing like whoa, I finally got home around 3:45, and showered, and went to bed.
I had fun though. It was something different, and although I don't typically listen to that kind of music, it was fun to do something new.
So, now I'm going to watch more Farscape, so I can get it off my computer. Otherwise, I'm being lazy the rest of the day, most likely.

Ugh. So sleepy. Just got home from Shari's house. She went burn crazy on my cd's. It was quite amusing, as I fell asleep on her bed. Oh, well, good times, as always.
I did however, finish season 4 of Buffy today. So while season 5 is downloading, I'll start watching Farscape, so I can get that off my computer.
Tomorrow, I'm going to watch the OC season finale, as well as Bones, and then be done with my shows.
